Commentators described it as challenging longtime beliefs that the making of the Let It Be album was marked entirely by tensions between the Beatles, instead showing a more upbeat side to its production. After taking on Paul's friend George Harrison as their lead guitarist, Stuart Sutcliffe as their bassist and Pete Best as their drummer, the five-piece band became the Beatles. The release was preceded by the publication of a book of the same name – the first official book credited to the band since The Beatles Anthology (2000) – featuring an introduction by Hanif Kureishi. With the new release date finally officially confirmed, each of the sets breaks the 468-minute doc down into three separate discs.

The 60-minute feature will debut at select IMAX cinemas on 30th January 2022, the 53rd anniversary of the band’s epic concert. While no physical release has been announced, the rooftop concert audio is currently streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major music streaming outlets.
